★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 嘉慶22年(1817)，祖廟起建於今中正路旁(今正光藥局旁)，日治時期因市街改正拆除，接著便以執爐主的模式，民國48年八七水災前後鄉民倡建廟，53年至此重建
相傳南瑤宮老二媽神像是由五福戶募款雕刻，因此凡是南瑤宮二媽五輪值進香，頭香之職就由開基祖廟擔任，每年六月初一開基祖廟都會恭請老二媽繞境作客
目前廟內保留古物甚多，最珍貴的是嘉慶年間的一幅古匾
