Wang Xun Qiansui, also known as Wang Fen, was an important local leader, heroic and anti-Qing uprising hero in the central region of Taiwan in the Qing Dynasty. Legend has it that martial arts are high and strong, generous and upright, and often help the weak and support the weak. He is respected by people. Not only does he often come out to resolve disputes with Zhangquan friends, he has also led the villagers to repel the bandits who invaded the neighborhood several times! At the age of twenty, Lin Zhensong, the richest man in the suburbs of Lukang, was hired as the head of martial arts (the head of Lukang eight suburbs) to protect the interests of Lukang merchants and the peace of the place. The local residents called it "Big Brother Wang Xun"! In the 51st year of Qianlong, in 1787, at the invitation of Lin Shuangwen, who was of Zhangzhou descent, he jointly rebelled against the Qing Dynasty and was named General Pinghai! It was the famous Lin Shuangwen incident in the history of Taiwan. However, because of the ethnic disputes in Zhangquan and Quanzhou, Wang Xun was betrayed and killed by his fellow Quanzhou descent before the Qianshui Uprising! Later, the head was sent to Beijing for inspection, and it was found that he was tossed back to Lugang Lunziding for burial. The people of Lukang also built temples in their cemetery, which was originally called "Wang Fen Brother Tomb" and also "Wang En Brother's Temple." Later the expansion was changed to "Fu Ling Palace", honored as "Wang En Gong" or "Big Brother Wang Fen". Historical events have passed, and political power has flowed back and forth. The ancestors on this land once fought against foreign powers, autocratic governments, and all injustices. Their sentiment of loving the homeland, the soil and the people is worthy of the younger generations to emulate and miss! The time of the Lin Shuangwen uprising against the Qing Dynasty was 1786. The world of the times, Europe and the Americas of the West, was experiencing at the same time: the American War of Independence (1776) and the French Revolution (1789)... and other important human rights events! These events have profoundly changed European and American countries, but the Lin Shuangwen incident is still just a few lines in our textbook! A passage mentioned in the U.S. Declaration of Independence more than 200 years ago can justify Wang Xun’s Chitose struggle as an explanation: All human beings are created equal, and the Creator has given them a number of inalienable rights, including the right to life, the right to freedom, and the right to pursue happiness. In order to protect these rights, people establish a government between them, and the legitimate power of the government comes from the consent of the ruled. Any form of government, as long as it destroys the above-mentioned purpose, the people have the right to change or abolish it and establish a new government.
