The Beidou Red Brick Market, after its completion, brought the prosperity of Beidou to the first place in Changnan. After World War II, it was called the Beidou Retail Market, and it was still the busiest market in Beidou Town. In 2003, due to a fire caused by a fire in the electric wire, the wooden parts were burned and only the red brick wall survived. Later, the Ministry of Economic Affairs subsidized the restoration. The renovation was completed in June 2004 and was renamed the "Beidou Red Brick Market".
