In the era of the Japanese occupation, there has been a major renovation in recent years, and the atmosphere around it is quite traditional, and the snacks have an ancient taste.

The Beidou Red Brick Market was built in Showa 8 (1933). The main body is made of bricks. The roof truss is a wooden frame structure with a symmetrical "back" shape in plan. There are entrances and exits at four corners, the facade is a simplified gable, and the Zhongcheng patio can also be used for daylighting. The Beidou Red Brick Market, after its completion, brought the prosperity of Beidou to the first place in Changnan. After World War II, it was called the Beidou Retail Market, and it was still the busiest market in Beidou Town. In 2003, due to a fire caused by a fire in the electric wire, the wooden parts were burned and only the red brick wall survived. Later, the Ministry of Economic Affairs subsidized the restoration. The renovation was completed in June 2004 and was renamed the "Beidou Red Brick Market". It’s a pity that the town’s commercial functions have been transferred to other places, and the popularity of the town has become much lower than before.

The history of the Hokuto Market can be traced back to the temporary market set up on Hokuto Street in Meiji 32 (1899) during the Japanese Occupation Period. The expansion of the market scale was completed in Showa 10 (1935); the main body was made of bricks, and the roof truss was made of wooden structure.
Beidou Red Brick Market is an existing large-scale public building and a rare public retail market in Beidou Town during the Japanese occupation period. There are entrances and exits at the four corners, and the Zhongcheng patio can be used for lighting.
