★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 遠東戲院建立於1956年12月(民國45年)，當時稱為新舞臺戲院，約營業15年後開始落沒，2015年9月30日訂為縣(市)定古蹟，位於今日中華路與光復路交叉口，身處市中心，牆面外觀為洗石子之原色，是北斗相當重要之象徵性地標，昔日為當時北斗街附近聚落的重要娛樂休閒據點。
The Far East Theater was established in December 1956 (the 45th year of the Republic of China). It was called the New Stage Theater at that time. After about 15 years of operation, it began to decline. On September 30, 2015, it was designated as a county (city) historic site. The intersection of Guangfu Road, located in the city center, with the appearance of the wall in the primary color of washed stones, is a very important symbolic landmark of Beidou. It used to be an important entertainment and leisure base for settlements near Beidou Street at that time.
