★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 年幼時來過，水中炸量的鯉魚及烏龜令我印象深刻，十幾年過去了，今日再次造訪卻令人失望，場地疏於管理，水不再乾淨了，水中的魚亦無縱影，只剩幾隻烏龜，真的蠻失望的，希望相關單位能夠好好管理，讓這地方恢復到記憶中那美麗的聖地。
I was here when I was young, and the carp and tortoise exploded in the water impressed me deeply. Ten years have passed, but my visit again today is disappointing. The site is poorly managed, the water is no longer clean, and the fish in the water are no longer visible. There are only a few tortoises left. I am really disappointed. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 竹塘醒靈宮主祀關公，旁另祀孔子，還有一個全台最大的聖蹟亭，可見這是一間具有客家色彩的廟宇。
的確如此，在日治時期，二林有源成農場，日本人從中壢等地調來了一些客家人到此開墾，後來這些客家人便在竹塘落戶。
他們蓋了醒靈宮，遠從苗栗獅潭虔迎關呂張三恩主供奉。
加上旁邊的孔子廟，及兩座池中的春秋御閣，形成了一個典型而有特色的客家信仰。
Zhutang Xingling Palace worships Guan Gong, besides Confucius. There is also the largest sacred relic pavilion in Taiwan, which shows that this is a Hakka-style temple.
Indeed, during the Japanese rule, Erlin became a farm, and the Japanese transferred some Hakkas from Zhongli and other places to cultivate here. Later, these Hakkas settled in Zhutang.
They built the Awakening Palace and worshiped the Lord Lu Zhang Sanen from the Miaoli Shitan.
Coupled with the Confucius Temple next to it and the Chunqiu Imperial Pavilion in the two pools, a typical and characteristic Hakka belief has formed.
