★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 視野好，爬山有段坡很陡，上去時最好檢查煞車是否完好。跟雷藏寺路線前面雷同，過墓地後的插叉路指標不是很明顯。

視野遼闊廣場旁邊可以遠眺市區，可惜是早上去的，晚上應該很美。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 慈德宮因造型特別，有很多別名。就廟的整體造型來說，因為像倒臥的葫蘆，所以又叫葫蘆廟；而單以拜亭來說，因為長得像斗笠，所以也叫斗笠廟；再加上廟後有一顆三百多年大榕樹，所以這區域也被稱作榕樹嶺。此外，廟前廣場上有根高達三十公尺的柱子，上有十九隻龍，共三十八顆眼睛，夜晚會發亮，稱十九龍柱或護國神柱。這裡除了廟型別緻外，因居高臨下，可以遠眺草屯，天氣好時甚至可以遠及台中、彰化，所以也是看夜景的好地方，有經過可順道一遊。
