Fuxing Palace The Fuxing Palace in Mingjian Township was first built in the 33rd year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1907), but the local elders said that they have been worshipping the fire in Mazu Township for about 300 years and are the center of faith for local residents. The main deity of Fuxing Palace is Our Lady of Heaven. Because she protects the residents on both sides of Zhuoshui River, she is also called "Mother of the Water" and "Mother of the Ferry Boat." According to legend, in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, Zheng Shi, an immigrant from Zhangzhou, Fujian, moved to the Three Madonnas of Meizhou. The statues arrived in Taiwan for enshrinement. At that time, many immigrants who came to Taiwan from mainland China prayed for safety to Mazu. After the situation stabilized, they built a small shrine for worship. It was not until the 33rd year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1907) that bamboo pipes were used as a place to worship. The temple was built, and after many times of construction, it has a splendid but majestic appearance.
