Jiji Guangsheng Palace, formerly known as Tianshang Palace, locally known as Matsu Temple or Matsu Palace, is a Matsu Temple in Jiji Town, Nantou County, Taiwan.
In 1793 (the fifty-eighth year of Qianlong), the local reclaimer Yang Dongxing initiated the construction of the temple, and raised more than two thousand yuan (silver circle) from the residents of the village. The main body of the temple was built with clay (mud brick) [2] At today's position, the Virgin Mary is enshrined, called "The Palace of Heaven."
In 1835 (the 15th year of Daoguang), the local neighborhood developed rapidly and the original location became relatively narrow. Therefore, the residents of Zhuangli once again initiated fundraising and moved the temple body to the north bank of Qingshui Creek for reconstruction. The construction was completed this year.
In 1856 (the sixth year of Tongzhi), believers had to cross the stream when entering incense, which caused inconvenience. Therefore, after the flood that year, the believers again initiated fundraising and rebuilt the temple body to its earliest position, which is where it is seen today. .
In the summer of 1892 (the eighteenth year of Guangxu), the temple body collapsed due to a typhoon. Because the camphor industry was booming at that time, various brain museums, such as Shen Hongjie, Lin Tianlong, Lin Yindong, Gao Gongchen, etc., raised funds Refurbish.
Renovation was completed in 1894 (the 20th year of Guangxu), and there is a plaque "He De Rushan" erected in the temple when it was rebuilt in the 20th year of Guangxu, which records this event.
In June 1895, the temple body was requisitioned by the Japanese military police as a military police station. It was besieged by the civilian army on June 29 that year. More than ten Japanese soldiers were killed, and the temple body was almost destroyed in the battle.
In 1917 (the sixth year of the Taisho era), the Jiji Street was gradually depressed in the early days of the Japanese era, and the temple body was in disrepair. He Huai, Du Chengluo and others raised funds for reconstruction.
In 1935 (the tenth year of the Showa era), Tang Qimu raised funds to re-expand it and renamed it "Guangsheng Palace".
It was renovated again in 1969 (58th year of the Republic of China).
In 1999 (Republic of China 1988), it was dumped in the 921 earthquake and Mazu's left shoulder was also damaged. Later, with donations from all walks of life and government subsidies, the reconstruction was completed according to the original pattern. However, because most of the temple's materials were damaged after the earthquake, and considering that it is not easy to obtain cypress materials, it was built on the basis of a reinforced concrete structure and its appearance was modeled on the original appearance.
2003 (Republic of China) on July 11, the ceremony for the completion of the new temple was held

Many people have gathered in Wuchang Palace, which collapsed because of the September 21 earthquake, but they have never been to the Guangsheng Palace on the street. But compared to the former, this Mazu Temple is a place where many of the townspeople are dependent. In addition to visiting the railway station, Mingxin College, and the Lantern Festival, it is better to come to the street to worship Mazu and eat the stinky tofu that is not far away.
