★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a rather small and a bit hidden place but very interesting with many beautiful ceramic tiles inside.
The staff was super welcoming and explained me some history once I entered and paid the 50$ fee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This small museum is located in the central of Chiayi city, just a few minute driving from the train station. Asking the exhibition guide, most of the tiles are the real ones that ancient Taiwan rich family use to decorate their house and also to express their family's highness identity. Nowadays, a collector buy them from the rich family's descents when the family is re-constructing their mansions, giving the ancient tiles a new life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved this museum. Not only a place for taking beautiful pictures but also for a place for understanding the history of Taiwan’s ancient architecture design and history.
The staffs here were all full of passion and enthusiastically gave tourists tours abut the history of these tiles. Definitely a must-go when you visit Chiayi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely place to go and learn about Taiwanese tile and to take pictures. Not very many English translations, and you have to be ready to walk up some steep stairs, but the place and it's artifacts are beautiful. The gift shop has a great selection as well. It costs $50NT to get in.

Allow Aria to guide you expertly through the meaning of each design; detailing each motif and symbol with its cultural significance (and in English!!). A cultural awakening awaits you. I highly recommend this museum to all.
