Baxian Mountain was originally a deserted mountain forest. When Master Guanmiao (the abbot of Baolin Temple) walked from north to south towards the foot of the mountain in three steps, he passed through the Xiangjiao Mountain in Dalin, Chiayi. It is said that there was a bodhisattva who showed spirituality, and believers guided them. The direction, led the master to the present site, and built the Mao Peng in the forty-ninth year of the Republic of China (1960). After his hard work and the assistance of Master Du Miao, and the enthusiastic help of the local villagers, everyone contributed money and efforts to finally build a majestic and majestic Baolin Temple in the barren mountains. This place is surrounded by mountains on all sides and has beautiful scenery. The Baolin Temple occupies an area of ​​about two tiers. The main worship is to Sakyamuni Buddha. The environment is surrounded by mountains and the environment is very quiet. There are currently seven or eight people living here, four of whom are monks, all of which are bhikkhuni. The monastery still accepts elderly care services. Those who are physically strong and able to share the temple chores can also live here for free. At present, the Baolin Temple is presided over by Master Xingding, a female disciple of Guanmiao. After she was born as a wealthy timber merchant in Chiayi City, she devoted a lot of energy, blood and sweat, and expanded the scale of the temple, which also allowed more believers to come here to pay homage to the Buddha.
