History: Xiangyun Temple was originally called "Buddhist Layers Garden" and was established in the 54th year of the Republic of China (1965). The reason is that Mr. Chen Boyang, the father of the current abbot, Zhiding nun, was afraid that his 17-year-old daughter would become a nun. Therefore, he bought the current site of 120 pingtu to build a Buddhist temple so that Zhiding nun could practice at home. In 1956, the Buddha Hall was opened and the Buddha statues were seated. In the next year, Zhiding nuns were still a monk, and he was ordained by the monk Shenghai and received full ordination at the Keelung University Temple. In 1967, due to the constrained grounds for legal affairs, the garden often became a country in the rain, and it was adjacent to a Shinto temple, which was extremely inconvenient. Therefore, the property was sold by the seller and some believers donated and purchased more temple land. Three hundred and sixty-eight pings were renamed "Xiangyun Temple." Reconstruction began immediately, and the seat adjacent to the Shinto Temple was changed from east to west, and one from west to east. The main hall was completed in 1967, and the temple was quiet. In 1972, he bought the neighboring land again and built it as the present lecture hall. In 1983, the reading room, conference room and lecture hall on the ground floor of the three-story huts on both sides were completed. The three floors of the central hall are Daxiong Hall, Huayan Hall, and Bliss Hall. Xiangyun Temple was completed and opened on September 21, Republic of China. Three masters, Jingxin, Bomiao, and Ranmiao presided over the consecration and seat of the Buddha. There was also a layman Hu Qinghuo from Gaolin Village, Gukeng Township who had contributed to the construction of the lay garden. He visited temples in various places since he was a child, and he has been practicing Buddha for many years. He has established a Buddhist temple dojo to promote the Buddha’s life and save the world’s long-cherished wishes. The Buddhist School was initiated in the 54th year of the Republic of China with Master Zhidingni and worked together to create a lay house. The ground was broken on November 18 of the same year and the seat ceremony was held on February 16 of the following year. Hu Jushi once organized the "Buddhist Youth Propaganda Group" in 1989, and in 60 years, it was reorganized into the "Dharma Propaganda Group", and he was very active in propagating Dharma. Zhiding nun graduated from Yuqun Industrial and Commercial School in his early years, and later entered the Buddhist College of Baojue Temple in Taichung. He received full ordination at Dajue Temple in Shifang, Keelung, and stayed as abbot of Dehe Temple in Minxiong Township. Xiangyun Temple is currently under the leadership of Zhiding nuns. The people have a total of ten years, all are women, and there are also old Bodhisattvas nearby to help with temple affairs. Zhiding nuns have a plan and vision for modern people to spread the Dharma, and actively carry out various missionary activities with Xiangyun Temple as the hinterland. In addition to the routine summer residence and Buddhist chanting in the mountains, the monastery has started from March 1983 Since the beginning of the month, there are group practice sessions four times a week. It is divided into three classes: elementary, intermediate, and advanced according to the level of Buddhism. The assistants are still aspiring to determine the nuns' high-skilled nuns. The Xiangyun Temple has three floors above ground and is located on Shiqu Avenue in Dounan. There is no doubt that it has become the center of faith for the townspeople. The first floor of the main hall is dedicated to the three holy sages of the West. It is also used as a lecture hall at ordinary times, and all dharma meetings are held here. The second floor enshrines the Three Treasures, and the third floor also enshrines the three western saints. Facing the main hall, the first floor of the right side is the guest room, and on the side are the squatters and guest halls of the permanent residents. The ten directions of legal affairs in Xiangyun Temple are prosperous. It is a famous Buddhist temple in Dounan Town. Whether it is for beginners or advanced Buddhist studies, Xiangyun Temple can meet the needs of people from all walks of life.
