The old building has its own elegance. In the democratic era, the high officials at the time were only Sesame University. Almost all those who went out to work had dormitories, and it is not an exaggeration for the official residence to be of this size, which is much better than it is now. At least don't worry about not being able to afford a house

Huwei County Shou's Residence is a dormitory belonging to the local head. It dates back to the 12th year of Taisho (1923) during the Japanese Occupation. After World War II, the use of the district chief and the president of the Yunlin District Court all belonged to the private living space of the local senior officials. Therefore, for a long time, except for the officials and their families during their residence period, only a few people have got a glimpse of the internal conditions of the space at that time, and the local residents have never had the opportunity to enter. It was left unused until around 1985. In 1989, the "Tiger Tail Literature and History Studio" initiated a preservation movement, and it was registered as a historical building in the 1990s. After the restoration of the official residence of the county guard was completed, preparations for the Yunlin Story House began in 2007, which was stationed and operated by the "Yunlin Storytellers Association". Local stories are displayed and performed through text, drama, etc., and become a new base for oral history, literature, and picture book creation. Architectural features: the main building is a wooden tile roof on the first floor, and the exterior structure of the building can be divided into three parts, namely a brick base, a rain shower wall, and a mountain-line tile roof. The indoor space layout of the county residence is an anteroom type (generally Japanese houses are roughly divided into "front hall type" and "walkway type"). The anteroom type connects the main indoor spaces with a porch. The construction of the house and the study were completed in two different periods of the Japanese colonial period. The plan layout changed from a single building to a two-room building. An independent study was added on the northeast side of the base to form an L-shaped outdoor Space and create a more private backyard. The study of this official residence is not located in a secluded corner, but is located close to the entrance gate. It should have the function of formal reception and handling of official affairs, and provide the county head with the function of connecting private life and official affairs. The surrounding area is equipped with a garden planting area; the base of the building is raised to prevent moisture and ventilation; the wall is designed with traditional Japanese rain panels to produce a visual level effect; the doors and windows made of cypress are designed according to the vertical direction of the indoor space, and the roof is mud tile Four vertical drainage gutters are erected. The indoor partition wall is built with bamboo woven mud wall, the middle is built with cabinets, bed rooms, etc. The sliding doors are divided into functions by modular partitions, and the corridors and walkways connect the indoor space and the outdoor landscape to create a visual connection. The floor is laid with cypress slats. Including living room, dining room, kitchen, study room, reception room, storage room, garden, etc.
