Douliu City’s old market, a century-old shop, real materials, no chemical raw materials, and insist on using natural and non-toxic. During this visit, the boss introduced the incense making process and Lin Yuanmei’s historical sources very carefully. The boss put the raw materials in the glass jars so that everyone could smell them. The raw materials are what we can often see, such as star anise, grapefruit peel and so on. When we walked up to go hand-made, climb up the ancient wooden stairs, wooden partitions, and century-old houses are really beautiful. There are scenting appliances on the upper floor, and they are placed on a small balcony. When you go up, you always get to the place where you want to DIY. The balcony is equipped with 2 folding tables with a powder on it. If you don’t have professional knowledge, you can divide the raw materials. Without coming out, the boss slowly introduced each raw material, and there was powder made from grapefruit peel in it, mixing the various raw materials together, and using noon water to serve the gods. This shows that the boss attaches great importance to traditional practices. After the production is finished, the boss downstairs invites everyone to drink agarwood tea. This is the first time I have encountered tea brewing under the wood. It tastes faint and fragrant, which is very nostalgic. A small shop and a story were slowly unearthed by a group of young people. Only then did we have a chance to get to know this old shop that we passed by but didn't want to go in. This visit made me more like shopping in the old street. I will buy incense with the boss next time.
