清朝時由弟子張馬廳、張馬侯、張馬居三兄弟隨身攜帶玄天上帝香火信物，隨同鄭成功在安平港登陸，後在台南州、斗六郡、古坑、清水、溪頭（外號二坑頭）圍籬後徐家庄及廓尾兩庄人士共同奉祀，最盛時曾經掌握36個庄頭，後來因為庄頭遷移，最後玄天上帝輾轉回到古坑鄉大埔，隨後由玄天上帝降駕取廟名為北極殿，並且訂位北極殿坐向為乙辛辰戍取地穴為「七星落地燕子歸巢鳳凰穴」，龍虎隨兩邊，前面為針珠塞口，並擇于民國73年11月16日入火安座。
Establishment history:
During the Qing Dynasty, the three brothers Zhang Ma Ting, Zhang Mahou, and Zhang Maju carried the Xuantian God incense tokens with them, and landed at Anping Port with Zheng Chenggong, and then went to Tainan State, Douliu County, Gukeng, Qingshui, and Xitou (outside). No. Erkengtou) after the fence, the people of Xujiazhuang and Kuwei Zhuangzhuang worship together. At the peak, they had 36 villages. Later, due to the migration of the villages, the god Xuantian was finally moved back to Dapu, Gukeng Township, and then by Xuantian God descended and named the temple the North Pole Hall, and booked the location of the North Pole Hall as Yi Xinchen to take the crypt as the "Seven Stars Landing Swallows Return to the Nest Phoenix Cave." It was seated in the fire on November 16, 1993.
