★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came to this place regularly growing up, and it was a friendly place where the owner asked you to hand them newspaper as they wrap the popsicles. It was dimly lit, and the selection was small, but you felt welcome.
Twenty years later. The place is much better lit, and there is about ten times as many flavors, but there is nothing friendly about this place. The old lady treated our questions with contempt, and the popsicles are considerably smaller than before (but the price hasn't gone up so can't complain too much about this one). And the only two unusual flavors (米糕 & 桂圓米糕) people come to this place for were sold out.
My advice? Stop if you really need a popsicle and you can somehow find parking. Otherwise there are plenty of other places offering sweet icy treats in Tainan with a smile.

however, all the popsicles seemed to be consistently underweight (57 to 58 grams vs 60 grams advertised). machine error could not account for this given none of the products were overweight. not too happy with such dishonesty. when confronted, the staff (this is clearly a family run business) offered no apology and instead said they were all like that, as if cheating the customer was their birthright. -3 stars for this attitude.
almond popsicle (TWD 13): strong almond flavor combined with a good amount of creaminess. 5/5
coffee popsicle (TWD 13): one of the best coffee flavored popsicles we have had. creamy with strong amounts of coffee flavor. 5/5
oreo popsicle (TWD 16): flavor was lighter than the store bought ones such as the ones from Meiji. 4/5
peanut popsicle (TWD 13): peanut flavor was good but insufficient richness. 4/5
