This place is an institution in the temple area. I order the eel noodle in thick soup and they gave me so much eel. Everything is piping hot. The ingredients are humble, but they have been doing this for over 40 years they have perfected the formula. The eel meat was firm and flavourful. The thick stew has a strong umani base with a dash of vinegar to counter balance the eel. The onions are slightly on the rare side so the freshness and crispiness contrast with the gooeyness of the soup. At the bottom of the bowl you'll find cloves of garlic giving the soup its lively kick. The whole dish is just robust through and through. And the aunties running the place, they'll take care of you. Super nice.

Truth to be told, it was 30 degree w/o air con, and said I’d only have 2 bites of each. Ended up finishing everything, go figure. It was awesome!

I find the taste of this place spot on for me, not too sweet at all. Didn't want to splash out on the stir fry version, at $190, so had the soupy one at $130 instead. It was the right decision, as the thick sauce goes well with the fish and helps the noodle go down better. I got there just in time too, before 10am. Because it's cook to order you typically have to wait 15min or more, if you're not the first in line. I'm keen to try out he sesame oil kidney next time.

Recommended by a bartender. Fantastic food. Friend eel noodle. Boiled squid. Its a simple stall. So don't expect it to be spotless.

We arrived here at 17:00, and were told that squids were sold out and fried eel noodles needed at least 40 mins to cook…finally we ordered thick soup ones, but still waited about 30 mins. Noodles are quite nice but a little too sweet to me.

After trying out other eel fried noodle shops in Tainan, I feel this place hits the right spot of savory and a slight hint of natural sweetness, great choice if you’re not a fan of too much sugar and the portions are generous too!

We ordered take away here during the pandemic. We had the 鱔魚意麵 (eel yi mein, a type of egg noodles) and it was fantastic. For 200NTD, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Eel was plenty, the sauce was absolutely delicious and for an extra 10NTD you'll get extra noodles (the regular portion will probably get you full enough though). Haven't tried any of the other dishes yet, but in terms of value and taste, the eel noodles definitely are highly recommended.

A small shop selling Tainan famous Eel fried noodles and other seafood and organs. Not too expensive as their portion is rather huge. The eel noodles are not too sweet as compared to other shops in Tainan. Their steamed squid is fresh and juicy and they come with a homemade garlic chili sauce. The place can get very crowded especially on weekends and public holidays so it is better to go on a weekday as even off peak weekends are quite crowded.
