★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really helpful staff although we did not buy a lot of tea. The staff was very patient and wrote us notes on how each type should be brewed. However you cannot try tea there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oldest family run tea shop in Tainan. Unfortunately the tea I bought wasn't hand-packed. The tea is vacuum-packed and then wraped in the shop style paper. Aside from that, the owner was very friendly and the tea is gorgeous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The lady there was so patient and knowledgeable. I got one black and one Oolong. The black tea is still my favorite tea to date. You'd think being a specialty store with a rich history, the prices would be ridiculous. But they are actually very affordable, and not so different from supermarket stuff. Consider how little tea leaves you need for a good brew, the value is just really good. Go ahead and treat yourself. This place is a living treasure of TNN.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am hesitant of tea shops that don't actually let you try the tea before buying, and this is one of them. The teas are overpriced for the quality and in my opinion they are unfortunately just running on the fame of the shops history to sell average tea.
I bought some Tieguanyin, a tea I drink regularly, to get a feel for the shops ability to select teas (as they aren't farmers, they don't grow their own). Their Tieguanyin roast isn't quite up to par in my eyes, and I compared it side by side with some competition Tieguanyin teas to confirm this. The roast was done at too high a temparature and has a slightly offputting diesel smell. If I had tried it first, I wouldn't have bought it.
