During the Showa period during the Japanese rule in Taiwan, Japan opened the Anping port, so that after 1939, ships could reach the Tainan boat through the canal (now Tainan Canal) opened in 1926, and because of this, it was necessary to set up customs here . After the end of World War II and entering the period of the Republic of China, the building was taken over by the Kaohsiung Customs Bureau and continued to carry out business until the canal no longer had merchant ships. The building is still staffed, but customs duties have not been performed. The building is a simple Japanese traditional wooden structure, and its space is slightly L-shaped. At the entrance there is a small gabled porch supported by two pillars. The roof of the house is mainly made of wooden rain shower boards, with a canopy supported by eaves at the opening, and the roof is a traditional black tile. The south side of the room is business space, with a characteristic wooden counter inside; the north side is office space, which is smaller than the business space on the south side. In addition, the wooden frame of the building on the white wall can be clearly seen indoors. It was announced as a municipal monument in Tainan City on July 16, 1990 (2001). The building is now the Minsheng Road office of the Kaohsiung Guan Jianan branch of the Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance.
