★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seats are right on the street even though it is an actual shop not a street stand. Lineup is long mainly due to the single cook making the meals. We had our seats for a good 30 minutes before our food arrived. Only get 1 chance to order, and will not be able to add to our order. Food was good but not quite worth the wait.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here on thursday at 4:50pm and there was no wait. Think we were the first ones there. Got the eel with noodles dry version. There is a smoky peppery favor to it. It was quite good and flavorful. It might not be for everyone, but I quite enjoyed it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went there at 8+ in the evening on a Sunday and there was no queue. My friend ordered a dry half sweet and salty e-Mian eel noodles for me and it was super delicious. The people working there are super friendly and they looked so happy to be working there. I need to go back again! Eel noodles is definitely something special in Tainan

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time ever having this dish at this easily located shop on a main road. The young lady taking my order was ever so polite. I guess it was just beggining to get busy but my plate of stir fried eel noodles come very quickly within 10 minutes. The wok hei of my supper here immediately reaches the back of my throat. I throughly enjoyed very mouthful of eel and noodle while watching the old man performing his magic in front of the hot wok.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first day in Tainan and definitely had to try this place out after seeing it featured on a YouTube video. They open to midnight to feed all the foodies and I can see why. This is one of the best things I've eaten in Taiwan ! The fresh eel is sliced and stir fried right before your eyes...鑊氣足夠！The high heat stir fry locks in the fresh sweet flavor of the slightly crunchy eel. The sauce is soysauce based with lots of complex umami richness. The chewy noodles are called 意麵not to be confused with 意大利麵…while the surroundings are not the cleanest it's full of atmosphere for people who appreciate these kinds of old diners. I tried heading over for another bowl before they open but there was already a long line...!
Update: 2nd time I went I got one to eat two to take out ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We called to order take out during the pandemic on a Saturday evening but the restaurant was too busy to take our order. So we drove there and ordered two bowls of 冠軍乾炒鱔魚意麵. The menu said 120 TWD but we were informed that they increased the price to 130 TWD, which is still a fair price considering that the servings of eel are on the bigger side. There was a bit of a queue but the owners are super fast and we just had to wait for around 15 minutes. The eel noodles were excellent, slightly different from other places we tried before, with a hint of pepper. Worth the wait!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Huge chunks of eel and noodles. They serve two types of noodles, one is dried, and the other is more soupy. Ordered the dried one and I pretty like it, just that it tastes too much black pepper.
The service needs some work but that's fine as I'm here to eat. However, it's bad that the cook is off mask, smoking while cooking.
