★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新化賣土產羊肉的店頗多，至今嚐過最特別的，莫過於新化郵局對面，這家店齡十餘年的「秀美」。每日凌晨兩點半，現宰本土羊肉送達，店家開火熱鍋，大約三點初便能喝到熱騰騰的當歸羊肉湯，六七點過後人潮開始湧入，直至收攤。
店內菜單貼在牆壁，簡單明瞭，叫碗湯便附上免費白飯一碗，佐料自用，隱藏版菜單是燉肉(爌肉)、羊雜、啃羊骨。大鍋旁有個碗，裡頭裝着從鍋撈起的黑色藥材，那叫作熟地，有滋陰補陽的功效。

Every day at 2:30 in the morning, the freshly slaughtered local lamb is served. The store opens a hot pot. You can drink the hot angelica mutton soup at about three o'clock. After six or seven o'clock, the crowd begins to flow in until the stall closes.
The in-store menu is pasted on the wall, simple and clear, the bowl of soup comes with a bowl of free rice, and the condiments are for your own use. The hidden menu is stewed meat (爌肉), lamb offal, and lamb bones. There is a bowl next to the cauldron with black medicinal materials picked up from the pot. It is called rehmannia and has the effect of nourishing yin and nourishing yang.
