Reasonably nice hotel in a scenic part of Tainan, that seems to cater to Taiwanese tourists. While the staff are friendly and the hotel pretty nice, it really wasn't designed for westerners in mind. That said, the hotel itself is situated pretty high so the dining room has a great view of the valley below. The rooms themselves are fine. Wifi is included with the room charge, which is nice. The TV has only Chinese language channels, so no English. The bathroom does not have a closed off or separate shower, i.e. there is no shower curtain or barrier, so water kind of goes everywhere. That's by design and found occasionally in Asian bathrooms. The ceiling in the bathroom is a bit low, so tall people beware. The hotel is located near some interesting things, such as the dam and reservoir built during the Japanese occupation. There are several statues and things regarding the architect and engineer in charge and his wife. The Sakura park is quite lovely and peaceful, despite its origins in war. Overall, a nice a place to stay in southern Taiwan!
