★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden gem with super friendly staff and this is an interesting place to see and for kids. There are also beautiful buildings built by Japanese and tasty food to try. In Taiwan there are many sugar plants but this is the only one I visited that are restored for tourism and carries staff guided exhibitions. I didn't know it exists in this part of Taiwan although i was born in Tainan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice park with historic sugarcane factory dormitory buildings from the Japanese colonial period. Some of the buildings are still being renovated. But for the ones that are open, they did a pretty good job. A lot of locals walking their dogs and exercising. There were some cafes and restaurants but didn’t get to try them.
