Zeng Wenxi Renovation Watershed

Zeng Wenxi originated from Shanshang Township and flows through Da Nei, Madou, Anding, Xigang to Chigu, and is known as the "mother river" of Tainan. On the embankment on the north side of the bridge near Xigang Township, this humble monument to Zengwenxi's water control fortifications was built in Showa 14 and records the beginning and end of the fortifications of Zengwenxi's embankment. In the old days, Zengwen Creek had no fixed river channels, turbulent streams flooded the villages and fields, and embankments began to be built during the Japanese occupation. However, the early water control works were difficult and many Taiwanese died as a result.
