Here is the machine garage of the Salt Railway operated by the Taiyan Company. It is dedicated to park the locomotive heads for salt iron. It is a brick building with many glass windows, which can be divided into three parts from the front. On the easternmost part of the front stepped gable, there is a three-character machine garage written by Zhu Jiuying, and its roof is double-slope, covered with cement tiles, and the roof truss is wooden, but some iron frames are used to support it. There are large double-leaf iron doors at the front and back, but there are two doors on the front and only one at the back, and there are still railroad tracks on the ground indoors. The middle part is separated from the east part by a concrete wall, but it is connected to the west part with only a few pillars as a symbolic partition, but there are also railroad tracks on the ground. The west part is the Chigu Saltworks Carpentry Training Course, which was completed on October 9th in the 51st Year of the Republic of China (1962). Its front elevation is also a stepped gable, but it is different from the machine garage in that it has four vertical lines added. Do decorations. The roof structure is similar to the garage, and multiple sets of large triangular wooden frames are also used to support the roof. However, with the evolution of the times, road transportation gradually replaced railway transportation, and finally stopped in February 1987. After that, the machine garage was idled and was declared a historic building in 2005. It is still standing today. The place is silently telling the rise and fall of Taiwan's salt industry.
