★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鹽水橋南老街上有一間宮廟叫「北帝殿」，是當地居民的信仰中心。「北帝殿」主祀北極玄天上帝，俗稱上帝爺公或上帝公，據《鹽水鎮志》之記載，上帝爺公乃乾隆年間，庄內舉人於上京領取印信途中，向武當山道士求請迎回奉祀。初時以爐主制輪祀於民宅間，後神威靈顯，才由庄民集資建廟。
