Text source: Wang Haoyi It used to be a sandy land in the Cailiao River Basin, which was called "Nanzhou" locally. It has been 255 years since the establishment of the Kailing Palace, and the Lord Shude Zun, commonly known as the "Tree King", has a wonderful story. It is said that on June 15th in the 24th year of Qianlong (1759), in a place under an old tree, a spiritual situation of a god possessing a child occurred. The god proclaimed himself "Nine-day Admiral Shude Lord" and was ordered to hunt on behalf of the sky. Passing by here, I saw that the old tree had a relationship with him, and asked the villagers to worship. The villagers then cut a section of the old tree near the root of the dry wood, and carved the god's golden body. Five years later, in the 29th year of Qianlong (1764), a temple was built for worship. This is the first temple in Taiwan where the king of Shude was enshrined, and it was earlier than 1776 when the United States was independent.

The nine-day Admiral Shude, the main priest of Nanzhou Kailing Palace, worshipped the gods, and adored the gods about the Holy Emperor, Ford Zhengzheng, and Taisui Xingjun. The temple was built in the 29th year of Qianlong (1764), and the name of the temple was "Kailing Palace". The temple is now rebuilt in 54 years. It is the local center of religion, economy and activity.
