Chen Shixian, an image calligrapher born in Baihe, Tainan, has long promoted image calligraphy, connecting people and things in Taiwan, and his works have deep emotions and artistic conceptions. We met for the first time in Baihe a few years ago and we were very happy. He even introduced local delicacies to us. He was very friendly and impressed. Later, although he greeted him on Facebook, he still paid close attention to his works and trends. This time he held a solo exhibition of "Images·Addition and Subtraction·Chen Shixian" at the Kaohsiung New Thinking Humanities Space. After seeing it, he still had a lot of thoughts. He wanted to say that he should visit Kaohsiung when he came to Kaohsiung, so he made an appointment and went to meet in the gallery. Lairen Gallery is a gallery run by Chen Shixian. In addition to displaying his works, it is also his studio. Of course, it is also a convenient place for him to entertain friends and welcome customers. When I visited for the first time, I found that although it is not big, it is enough to show his latest masterpiece; the interior has high ceilings and feet without a sense of oppression, bright lighting, and elegant decoration. On weekdays, there are assistants on site to serve; if there is a special appointment, Chen Shixian will also be there to make tea and chat, and the host and the host will have fun. I think the gallery lacks a big screen. On the one hand, it can be used as a multimedia display of other past works that are not on display; on the other hand, it can also broadcast video clips of its international exhibition exchanges, public brushstrokes, and interviews. Parking near the gallery is still said to be convenient, the laneway is fairly easy to find, and there is also a paid parking lot not far away (Times Qixian Chenggong parking lot, about four minutes walk). However, I personally suggest that you can park at the Carrefour Love River parking lot on the north side of Xingfuchuan and beside the Love River. Because you can deduct the parking fee for shopping, you can also enjoy the freshness and quietness of Xingfuchuan during these six or seven minutes of walking. If you take the MRT, get off at the Orange Line City Council (former site) station and walk for about ten minutes.
