★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place to get dried fish in Taiwan. Fresh finds. Smells like dried, pungent fish. Either that will make you hungry or make you want to leave. Great finds for gifts.
Make sure you bargain because there are lots of stalls that sell the same items. Also, make sure that you try the fish before buying it. All stalls will offer a sample. If they don’t, go to the next one.
Fun place to take photos. Dim lighting inside, stalls are close in proximity.
Very friendly people working there, they clearly all know each other.
We went at the end of summer, and the tourist season was pretty dead. We got a lot of attention and you can bargain for better prices when there are not too many tourists there.
Couple of drink stalls that serve delicious sugar cane juice if you get thirsty. Otherwise, there is a 7-Eleven a block up the street too.
