高雄市三民區有間義民廟,每年都會在義民廟前廣場舉行豬公大賽,平時在這廣場上,每到傍晚會有一些攤位營業,詹記蚵仔煎便是當地老店,現由兩代共同經營,這裡許多熟客都是從小時候吃到現在的,有從年輕單身、結婚、到生小孩的,也有到外地讀書,每次回高雄必來報到的,與許多客人都已是好朋友。詹記蚵仔煎以自製的粉,以特調秘方,讓吃起來的口感格外脆,所以有客人還會要求多加一些粉,而且份量大,再淋上用21種材料調配、酸酸甜甜清爽醬料,最後依客人習慣斟酌加入辣椒、醋,蒜頭的用量,十分貼心。可以在攤位前,看老闆以流暢熟練的動作,將一份蚵仔煎從無到有,便可發現台灣小吃不只有美味與趣味,還可以是種藝術。個人比較不喜歡吃脆脆的蚵仔煎,也許是不符合自己的口味,只給4顆星,真的很抱歉。
