But all the items we ordered just didn't taste good at all.
燒賣, below average, not good at all.
蝦腸粉, average, ok.
排骨, too salty
蘿蔔糕, simply bad
鮮竹捲, bad and salty
金銀蛋粥, 鹹鴨蛋皮蛋粥, omg, salty salty salty
Services were petty bad as well. Servers simply didn't care.
This place definitely doesn't live up to the hype.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like the restaurant, especially its signature dish, the delicious pork buns. I bought them to take out, and had to wait a little longer than usual, so they gave me a beverage for free. Tim Ho Wan is right next to Din Tai Fung, so you have two Michelin star restaurants right next to each other, and both sell take-outs, so I had a double Michelin star dinner in my hotel room.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I may be biased as I am from Hong Kong and thus naturally support this HK restaurant. I find the quality of dim sums is even better than that in HK which I think has something to do with the ingredients. In HK, the rent and salary probably take up the major share of the operating cost and less can be allocated to the food.
Here the ambience is much better, there is more space and you don't have to rub shoulders with other customers and the ceiling is so high. Of course, it comes with a price. It is quite pricy and just slightly cheaper than the very popular Din Tai Fung nearby. What I don't like is they use plastic cups and dishes with somewhat like fastfood setup.
