In the early days of the Kaohsiung people’s frequent visits, after the siltation was cleared, the bicycle lanes were added and replaced with new features. From here, you can also see the recent popular attraction “The Eye of Gangshan”.

The trail around the lake in the Agongdian Reservoir is about 7-8 kilometers long, and the embankment avenue is 2.5 kilometers long. There are a few sections of the trail in the woods. It is necessary to pay attention to the safety of the downhill section. It is recommended that it is safer to hold the bicycle down the steep slope. The Agongdian Reservoir was planned on the date of Japanese occupation and completed after the end of World War II. It is located on the Agongdian River at the junction of the eastern foot of Xiaogang Mountain in Yanchao District, Kaohsiung City, Gangshan District and Tianliao District. The main function is flood control and farmland irrigation. , The reservoir dam is 2.38 kilometers long, the longest in Taiwan and was once the highest in the Far East. There are currently planned trails around the lake, a circle of about 7 to 8 kilometers, suitable for cycling and walking. From the catchment area of ​​the reservoir, you can see Dagangshan and Xiaogangshan, lakes and mountains, beautiful mountains and water, and there are two suspension bridges (Yanbo Suspension Bridge and Penglai Suspension Bridge) in the Huying Reservoir Area. Solar power generation systems are currently installed on the lake. This is also a good place to enjoy the sunset. In the evening, you can see the golden light of the lake under the sunset. It is the back garden for leisure sports in Kaohsiung. Walking on the trails can enjoy the entire lake scenery, which is a good place for locals to walk and exercise in the morning and evening. On the nearby Xiaogang Mountain, there is a viewing platform for the Eye of Gangshan, which overlooks the entire Agongdian Reservoir.

It is a very good bicycle trail. It takes about 60-90 minutes to ride a circle. Half of the trail is shaded by trees and has beautiful scenery. It is a good place for the whole family to ride bicycles or take a leisurely stroll.
