[Shuangci Pavilion] Formerly known as Tianhou Temple, it is the temple with the longest history in Fengshan, commonly known as Fengshan Mazu Temple. It was founded in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. Fengshan was called "Xiapitou Street" when it was established as a county. The terrain is the highest point and the center point of the county. The ancestors thought it was auspicious point. The temple is dominated by women, like a hen protecting chickens. The earliest Fujian immigrants in the Ming and Zheng periods welcomed the incense of Guanyin Bodhisattva in Putuo Mountain, and worshipped them devoutly. It was called Guanyin Pavilion at that time. Originally, only Guanyin Buddha was enshrined. Because the front hall of the temple was built in the 18th year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1753), Mazu was enshrined from Quanzhou. Together, the two main gods are both female, and believers appreciate the mercy of the two saints, and they are collectively called "double mercy". "Charity" is the purpose of its compassion to help the world, and compassion is the meaning of the foundation. The Mahayana Yi Zhang: "Love and pity are called kindness, and grief is called compassion." The two saints are enshrined in the interior, and it was originally named Shuangciting Pavilion.
