★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 曹公圳是臺灣清領時期由官方主導最大規模的水利工程，與臺北瑠公圳、彰化八堡圳合稱清代三大水利工程（後二者由民間開鑿）。龐大的灌溉系統遍佈高雄平原，將看天田改良為一年兩獲的肥沃良田，對農村經濟、水文環境、宗教社會等造成深遠的影響。「曹公圳舊圳頭」具備清代、日治兩階段的建設痕跡，遺留設施如石碑、圳道、制水閘門等，反應人與自然透過水道工程互動的結果，具有文化、經濟、環境、歷史等面向之價值意涵，同時見證高雄地區開發與繁榮的歷程。
Cao Gongzhen was the largest water conservancy project led by the government during the Qing dynasty. It was collectively known as the three major water conservancy projects in the Qing Dynasty (the latter two were excavated by the people). The huge irrigation system spreads all over the Kaohsiung Plain. The Tiantian will be transformed into a fertile field that is harvested twice a year, which will have a profound impact on the rural economy, hydrological environment, religion and society. "Cao Gongzhen's Old Zhentou" has traces of construction in the two stages of the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese rule. Remaining facilities such as stone monuments, roads, and water gates reflect the results of interaction between people and nature through watercourse projects.
