★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 下淡水鉄橋を設計し、建設を指揮した日本人、飯田豊二さんの記念碑です。鉄橋の完成を見ることなく、40歳という若さで台南で亡くなったそうで、その無念たるやいかばかりか。完成した鉄橋が台湾に残した功績は大きく、今でも大切に保存されていることや、この記念碑が残っていることで、天国の飯田さんも喜んでいるのではないでしょうか。九曲堂駅のすぐ横なので、鉄橋とセットでぜひご見学を。
 It is a monument to the Japanese designer, Toyoji Iida, who designed and directed the construction of Shimo-Misui Bridge. He seemed to have died in Tainan at the age of 40 without seeing the completion of the iron bridge. The achievements of the completed iron bridge in Taiwan are great, and it is still preciously preserved and that this monument remains, so Iida in heaven may be pleased. It's right next to Kyukyodo Station, so please take a tour with the iron bridge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 應該不會特地去看這個紀念碑，但是從鳳梨工廠出來以後 ，順便往對面走幾步紀念碑的外圍假日會有大樹下市集，有一些特色的手工藝品值得看看
I shouldn't go to see this monument specially, but after coming out of the pineapple factory, take a few steps to the opposite side of the monument. There will be a market under the big tree on holidays. There are some special handicrafts worth seeing.

2、後積勞成疾，來不及就醫，1913年病故於台南醫院，於此更促使在高雄成立新的醫院（鼓山）。
3、陰刻的記念碑，以安山岩（觀音石）為基座，附銅刻事跡說明。
