In the Japanese era, the pineapple seedlings were cultivated. The building was completed in 1916. It was originally used as the water metering chamber of the A monkey waterway, reflecting the particularity of the surrounding terrain and the location conditions of the water delivery system. Later, it was transferred to the office of the pineapple seedlings cultivation office (office), and witnessed the age of the industry in the Dashu area due to the climatic and geological conditions suitable for pineapple planting. Finally, the building became an unused space in private land, and the surrounding area still maintained the use of pineapple dry farming, but the pineapple seedling cultivation and the canned pineapple processing industry that had been used in the past have disappeared for a long time. Overall, this building can be seen as a witness to the historical process of change in the regional modernization society in the Dashu area.

Formerly a water survey station and office

Sure enough, big trees are suitable for planting pineapples, and they have been widely promoted during the Japanese occupation. There is actually a seedling breeding farm in Xiaoping, but unfortunately there is only one old building left, standing alone in the pineapple field beside the industrial road.

The original marked location was wrong, and it took a lot of time to find it. Correct position is 22°40'33.3"N 120°24'43.1"E (22.675909, 120.411972), just beside Zhuliao Road. In the distance, you can see a tall building in the north and north east, which is the first Nagu Pagoda in Dashu District. If you go to a place where you can't see the Nagu Tower, it must not be the right place. It is a small Baroque building. People who like monuments should be happy to see this building. It's right in the middle of a pineapple field, maybe private land at the moment. I'm wondering why the farmer in the area kept it so nine and didn't remove it.
