Datong Church Urban mission history Under the leadership of the Lord, our church is concerned about the aboriginal sisters and their faith lives who have settled in the Datong area and have settled in Pingtung’s early descending mountains to earn a living and married veterans, especially their salvation. Due to the long distance between Pingshan Church and Datong area (Chang'an area), the elderly and young children were unable to attend the service of Pingshan Church due to traffic safety concerns. From August 1978 to February 1984 , Prayed at the home of Brother Dong Xinliang and sent chief executives to take turns in charge, and dozens of people attended the service. From March 1984 to 1986 at Brother Ke Yixiong's house. In September 1985, the number of people who were baptized due to believing in the Lord increased day by day. Brother Ke Yixiong’s house could not accommodate the number of worshippers. At that time, the Pingshan Church Presidential Conference invited Zhong Aiyue, the person in charge of the Datong District, to attend and report the purchase of a house. After explaining the matter, it was decided to allocate 150,000 yuan to purchase a building (Address: 3-1, Zhuwei Alley, Chang'an Li, Pingtung City) to provide Datong church believers as a chapel and set up women at the same time Fellowship: Chairman Song Yuhua, Vice Chairman Chen Huimei, Secretary Chen Yulan. The Children's Sunday School was established in April 1986, and the Hirayama Church sent teachers to help the teachers. Later, on January 31, 1990, the Central Committee set up a mission and named it Datong Church. At the same time, Pastor Mao Dongnan was appointed as the church's first missionary teacher. On April 8, 1990, the elder Zhong Aiyue, Deacon Song Wanghua, Zhong Aimee and others selected by the Hirayama Church were accepted by the small meeting as the first president of the church for a term of three years to assist the pastor’s church ministry. . Datong community care and care base  Future prospects In 1990, the loving Lord extended his tent from the Hirayama Presbyterian Church, widened the veil of the residence, and extended it to this place in Chang'an. He experienced nearly three years from single-digit family gatherings, missions, and wards. In ten years, it has become a well-organized small and medium-sized church with a total of 170 believers. In recent years, due to the declining birth rate and aging society, the church has been committed to promoting community missionary work, combining the government and private social welfare resources to set up children’s after-school accompanying classes and community care and care centers, hoping to continue to feed the beliefs and lives of disadvantaged families of urban aborigines , And adopted the maintenance work of the community's Chang'an Forest Park, maintained friendly relations with the neighbors, and made the church a symbol of the community's hope. As the 30th anniversary of the establishment of a church is coming, the church responds to the changes of the times and faces multiple conflicts of social values. The future prospects of the church will be the prospect of future missions in Chapter 54 of Isaiah: 1.
