The main part of this house is an independent bookstore. This bookstore is built in a renovated old house of a military dependents’ village. The original layout of the old house is largely preserved. The main area is naturally a reading area for books that a typical independent bookstore would have. The rest of the interior of the old house is designed as a space for people to sit, and the overall environment is spacious. The book selection part also has the "personality" of a typical independent bookstore. I observe that a high proportion of the book selection in the main house is related to food culture. Maybe It is related to the interest of the principal. The main body of the building is similar to most independent bookstores in Taiwan, but its environment has a beautiful feature that other independent bookstores do not have: the courtyard. Compared with most independent bookstores, which are limited to a single building (especially independent bookstores in urban areas), the Shiben House, which is based on the dormitory of the Shengli Star Village, is surrounded by a green courtyard. When the time comes, pick an interesting book and sit in the courtyard outside. Wouldn’t it be great if the warm and golden sunlight shone from the treetops in the winter afternoon? This time, I visited the salmon salted pie with sour cowpea, beef mushroom stewed rice, and Shaoxing wine stewed rice, all of which are delicious. Among them, the salty pie and Shaoxing pork rice mixed with the traditional taste of the military village are unconventional and mouth-watering. The new delicacy is related to the enthusiasm of the owner of the house for food research. I think the meals served by the waiter can fully demonstrate this; the drinks other than the meals, including coffee and black tea, are also very good. Several types of black teas are each fragrant. A visit to the main house can satisfy the soul and taste buds at one time. With such beautiful contents, coupled with a simple yet relaxed atmosphere, it is worth recommending.
