可愛らしいフォルムとお顔です。
このあたりに住み始めた農民が、原住民からの攻撃を避けるため、驚かせる目的で建造したとのこと。
やがて水害により獅子像が土砂に埋まり、行方不明になっていたそうで、その間に、２体、獅子像を新設したようで、近隣にその像も残っています。
この像を掘り起こした経過は諸説ありますが、順天宮の横に居る石獅子は可愛らしくて、とても癒やされました。
