The European-style architecture was found in the aboriginal village. The style is elegant and very stunning. The majestic Dawu Mountain and the forested riverside scenery are beautiful and unpretentious.

Gulou Village, Laiyi Township, Pingtung County, is an old Gulou tribe that originally lived at the foot of Dawu Mountain. From 1956 to 1957, it moved to the current Gulou Village. It is adjacent to Xinzhi Village, Wanluan Township. The traffic is still convenient. The "Gulou Church" was preached by Wei Dafa from the Taroko tribe in Hualien County at the end of 1962. The catechuman Wu Zhishui from Zhukeng led the way and spread the gospel to the ancient building. At that time, Brother Li Xianming was responsible for receiving food and accommodation and providing gatherings. A place to preach and pray to the Holy Spirit. Later, Liu Qingquan, a preacher of the Taroko tribe in Hualien County, also came here to help, and brothers such as Lin Mingshan and Luo Jinsheng of the Paiwan tribe from Jinlun Village in Taitung County often came to the ancient building to assist in pastoral care. At that time, there were more than 10 people who continued to be catechumens by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, on December 27, 1962, Liu Qingquan, Gao Liancai, Wu Ruirong and others preached in Yihe for the first baptism. At that time, nearly 20 people were put under the Lord’s name, and they applied to the General Assembly for the establishment of the ancient building prayer house, which was still gathering at Brother Li Xianming’s house. In 1964, the number of believers increased to more than 30, so the general meeting was reported to formally establish a church, which was the second Paiwan church established in Pingtung County; because there is no synagogue yet, it continues to meet at Brother Li Xianming's house. The following year, Pingtung Church Deacon Yang Lingchuan and Kaohsiung Deacon Chen Keren worked together to assist in the construction of the brick hall at that time, and the Lord arranged for the charity evangelistic meeting to be held on May 5, 1966. By 1967, the number of believers had increased to more than 70.
