"Yamen Shenmu" - Gimeng The Lion Tribe located in Shizi Township, Pingtung County, including the village office, community development association office, Lion Tribe cultural health station, cultural meeting place, idle police station and parking lot, etc., is the administrative center of the tribe, mainly for the Paiwan tribe. There is a very large, old and stylish tree in the area, standing for a hundred years. There are many elders, and there are many stories because of it, so the tribe remembers it as "Sacred Wood". According to the old man's memory - during the Japanese occupation period or even earlier (between 1895-1945), this tree was planted by the "Shanqing Brigade" at that time, and at that time this was the place where the Japanese army and police were stationed, and several units were here. , It is reported that there are police officials, mountain youth service teams (it is said that the Japanese army recruited local people to organize picket service teams), primary schools, sports or training grounds, infirmaries, military camps and control posts, etc. The management is very strict, just like a One of the strongholds of the Japanese army at that time, it is understood that after the large-scale bombing by the US military, it also caused heavy casualties among the local tribes and the Japanese army. Because this place was the location of the management agency at that time, the tribes all called it "Gimeng" (translated like Yamen), which means the judicial police agency today. In order to commemorate the century-old history of the old tree silently guarding the homeland, we named this tree "Yamen Shenmu".
