Very beautiful, wild ginger flower field Chaoxiang. It is a pity that summer vacation is not a holiday, all facilities are not open, it seems to be poorly managed.

Name: Dongyuan Tribe (Peony Township)
Watershed: Sizhongxi, Baolixi, Port Creek
Activity: Flower viewing
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------
The Dongyuan tribe was in the Japanese occupation period and was moved from the Paiwan tribes in the upper reaches of the Lushan River. Therefore, it still uses the name “Maliba”; it was renamed as Peony Village, also known as the New Peony Society, and was renamed in 1956. "Dongyuan Village". In the past, the Peony community thought that Dongyuan Village was a land of sorrow. Every time it entered, it would pray to the ancestral spirit. After the migration of the Maliba community, the peony community also assisted in the ritual, and the priest led the sorcerer to perform the enchantment ceremony. .
Early local residents lived on rice, but after the completion of the Peony Reservoir, Dongyuan became a water source protection area and could not continue to grow rice. The "water prairie" in the tribe has Taiwan's native plant "Water Duliu", and between May and November each year is the wild ginger flower season, full of flowers and sea, bringing many sightseeing benefits to the tribe. The tribal youths also organized a community guide commentary team to explain the interesting tribal culture and diet to the tourists. They said that "Dongyuan" is remote, and the tribes are inevitably going to Pingtung City or Kaohsiung to study and live. In recent years, through the sightseeing, many tribal youths have been returned to their hometowns, and the tribal culture has been described by visitors in their own way. In this way, the cultural identity is retrieved for the place.
