Taiwan Design Exhibition @ Pingtung "Super South" Pingtung Ya Cultural Tourism Center -------------------------------------------------- --------------- Invoice number 120E39’00”22N16’00” Client: Moderate risk taker -------------------------------------------------- --------------- If the sedan chair is too strong, it will hit the ground Name of Product: Hengchun Peninsula Grand Sedan (Tongqichao Temple in Shanhai Wanli, Hengchun Town) Basin: Baoli Creek, Gangkou Creek Activity: Participate in Seven Super Four Celebrations -------------------------------------------------- --------------- Wanlitong is a small fishing village dominated by fisheries, mainly Penghu immigrants with the surnames You and Han. In the early days, the living environment in Penghu was difficult, and they migrated everywhere, and finally settled in the Wanlitong settlement similar to the original hometown. The buildings here were mostly triple courtyards or Quchi-shaped buildings, and the building materials were mainly Penghu-characterized Chugu stone. The Qichao Temple is the faith center of the Wanlitong settlement in Shanhai Village, and worships Qichao mothers. According to legend, Qichao Mom was a local girl from Wanlitong. She was pierced in the throat by a fishbone after eating a fish. She turned to the warlock but died unfortunately. Therefore, the warlock buried the magical tools and the girl together. Later, the girl got good geography and appeared miracles. In 1969, the residents built a temple to worship Qi Chao Ma, and it looks like it was rebuilt in 1996 and completed in the Huo An seat. The temple organizes a safe detour every year on the 15th day of the lunar calendar. This day is the most lively moment in Wanlitong. The devotees will prepare the sedan chair to go to the beach to prepare ample offerings. Detour into the village. At the end of the detour into the temple, there will be a fire ceremony. The climax of the detour is the moment of entering the temple, and the sedan chair will carry out the ceremony of "sending a sedan chair" on the fire. Sending a big sedan chair is a unique temple worship ceremony on the Hengchun Peninsula. In the early days, most temples used the ceremony of sending a big sedan chair to worship the temple. However, due to the large amount of manpower required, this special culture gradually declined. When the big sedan chair is sent out, the sedan chair will do its best to vigorously shake the sedan chair in front of the temple. The believers believe that the greater the swing and the more pious, can the gods be awakened and the believers will be blessed. Longer palanquins are generally used when sending large palanquins, some of which are quite violent, breaking the palanquin and throwing off the roof, which is the climax of the worship ceremony.
This time, Pingtung County performed the best in epidemic prevention. After passing by Qichao Temple, I just wanted to borrow a toilet, but it was blocked!

The "Ping 153" rural road is a relatively remote coastal road in Kenting area. There are usually fewer vehicles. There are many small paths leading to the coast along the line. The landscape is quiet and beautiful. There is a small temple diagonally across from the Shizhu rest area. This temple is the "Qichao Temple", and the main deity is "Qiniangma" (Goddess Qixing Niangniang). Only when I came here did I know that there is this god. On the second floor of the temple is the Jade Emperor. There is a beautiful animal in the square of the temple. There is a free toilet next to the temple. If you need it, please take the opportunity to use it, because there are few public toilets on this road! There are two small paths diagonally opposite the temple to the sea. Usually there are only fishermen. If you like coral reefs and intertidal zones, you can go and take a look at low tide, but the rocks are sharp and you must walk carefully.
