The small and beautiful school has only one class per year, which guarantees teaching in small classes. Although the school does have the latest classrooms, it was just opened in June 106. It is a Hope Engineering Primary School donated by Tzu Chi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 我是民國47年就讀之前為台東糖廠代用國小，現在是光明小學，以前這地方稱馬蘭，我也是52年考上台東中學，當時的升學率非常高的，兒時情景真的另人回味無窮啊！不知還有沒有當時的同學，還在學校附近的區域生活著，當初的校長是羅頤，數學老師姓蕭！還有劉己瘉，王主任老師，黃美金音樂老師！
I was the substitute elementary school for Taitung Sugar Factory before studying in the Republic of China in 47. Now it is Guangming Elementary School. I used to be called Malan in this place. I was admitted to Taitung Middle School in 52 years. The school enrollment rate was very high at that time. Endless aftertaste! I don't know if there were any classmates at that time, who still lived in the area near the school. The original principal was Luo Yi, and the math teacher was Xiao! And Liu Jiyu, Director Wang, and Huang Meijin Music Teacher!
