月形石柱位於卑南文物遺址公園，靠近台東火車站鐵道附近的一隅，屬於卑南文物遺址的一部分！該遺址大約是距今5300至2300年前，是目前台灣所發現最大的史前聚落。其中出土了許多石板棺以及精美的陪葬品，是環太平洋地區規模最大的石板棺墓群的遺址。

The moon-shaped stone pillar is located in the Beinan Cultural Relics Park, near the Taitung Railway Station Railway. It is part of the Beinan Cultural Relics! The site is about 5,300 to 2,300 years ago and is the largest prehistoric settlement ever found in Taiwan. Many slate coffins and exquisite funerary objects were unearthed among them, and it is the site of the largest slate coffin tomb group in the Pacific Rim.
