Pool was great. Rooms are a little ugly but clean. I liked the buffet, the advise to me was to go earlier to avoid crowds. Seemed to work for me.

A bit on the older side but has a distinct style. Compared to newer resorts Naruwan may seem less high class and lacking in entertainment options. For a five star hotel I would place it on the lower end; compared to other 3 or 4 star hotels, it is definitely more luxurious and offers much more on the amusement side. Compared to others such as Evergreen Resorts in Jiaoxi or Promised Land Resort in Hualien, Naruwan is much more lacking in quality. The breakfast had a decent selection but that was it; it wasn't impressive in quality. The rooms were pretty good, but you could smell cigarette smoke in the hallways (at least on the 11th floor, where we stayed). A small annoyance for sure, but for a 5-star hotel, you would expect better. Service was good, courteous and professional for the most part, although most workers seemed to keep to themselves. They often have special deals for rooms, and we were able to get an executive suite for only 5000 NTD for a night (2 rooms in one, one king size and two twins, office area with computer). If you are able to score a deal like that, I would highly recommend staying here, if not, I would look elsewhere. That's the main reason for giving it 3 stars--for the value, it doesn't quite measure up to other 5-star hotels that charge similar prices. All in all, a decent place to stay if you're looking for a high-end place for your vacation to Taidong, but only if you can find a good price. Otherwise, I find it hard to recommend.

Some staff were rude and unprofessional. The room we stayed is very, very old, carpet has obvious stains. Pillow was the worst, there's hair inside the pillow cover. I can't believe this is a five star hotel. Update: anything can go wrong will go wrong with this hotel. Really really bad service ?

Old and not clean. There is long queue waiting for breakfast buffet, which is a direct evidence that the hotel can’t manage the service level well. What make things worse is that there are many unfilled plates and remain unfilled from the moment I entered buffet till I leave. Will not recommend and won’t visit again. Same thing happens over and over again. The hotel rep just responded that they are fully booked recently. The photo shows the long queue of 18 August morning.

Disappointed. How come 5 Star hotel have a bad sanitary !! I stayed at 6 people room (Room Number 418), which have 2 Double Beds and 2 Single beds. At the first glance, the bed was seems messy, but Its ok at first, since I thought If i responded to the counter, they will fix it (which is no), and when we are trying to sleep, We smell that blanket have awfully bad smell (the smell of clothes which is not cleaned and dried purposely) and some of the pillow also got the same smell! When we were trying to complain about this, it was 11.30PM and no people are able to help us to change the sheet. We are awake at 3.30AM and not sleep at all because of this. I hope the Hotel will pay more attention about this.

QUALITY 5-STAR HOTEL. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting us immediately upon arrival. Our room was easy to locate and spacious (see pictures attached). The view was quite nice. The hotel includes hot springs, swimming pools, a fitness room, and several souvenir shops. Interestingly, there was also an "E-Vegas" in the basement which included a billiards/ping pong hall, a "Texas Bar," VIP lounges, a children's play area, and arcade machines. Our stay package included a breakfast buffet, which was decent and included a few vegetarian options. A few items were a bit bland and over-cooked, but this seems typical for Taiwanese hotel breakfasts. The hotel is right along the old railway biking/walking path that connects directly to "downtown" Taitung. The hotel offers bicycles for rent at 50NT/hr. We rented two and they were in excellent condition. Overall, the facility was clean but slightly out-dated (design-wise).

The hotel upgrade our room to 6 people room size, the room was very big and nice. I think still need some updates for the swimming pool and hot springs area. thanks.
