A tribe with stories! Taitung Tourism Network Introduction Darumak is 11 kilometers away from the center of Taitung City. It is the main traffic artery with the 9th line and the 9th line. "Daluma" means "the place where the warriors live" and is the only Rukai living area in Taitung County. The Lukai people have developed a unique craft culture since ancient times, and the exquisite works of art are extraordinary. Introduction location point The Darumak tribe is the only Rukai living area in Taitung County. It is a pity that it is not very good. In the 58th year of the Republic of China, the original cultural relics were burned. Visitors who love nature and Aboriginal culture can come to the Darumak tribe for a cultural and ecological journey. - A brief history of the Darumak tribe - Officially listed in the history of 1650 After the peony society incident occurred in Hengchun in 1874, the Manchu government began to operate in East Taiwan, claiming that Darumak was "Da Nanshe". In 1926, the Japanese government moved Darumak to Doo and Irila, respectively, above and below the Danan Hydropower Plant. In 1941, moved to the current site and settled. In 1945, some houses in the tribe were destroyed by floods. The people in the vicinity of the disaster area moved to the south bank of Lijiaxi today to establish a small tribe in Su Bayang (near Da Nan Bridge). In 1969, after the Great South experienced a fire, it was rebuilt in situ, today’s Darumak.
