Although the entrance looks barren and smoky, it is actually not obstructing traffic. The total length is about 1 km. The road is primitive and there are not many artificial roads. If you are lucky, you can see blue-bellied pheasants and deer. Beware of spider webs. Hornet

The way up is a little steep, about one kilometer one way, but overall the road is very large and obvious. After arriving at the Balan Ruins, the view is good, and can be seen in the Dulan Mountain, Chulu, and Taitung urban areas, and the green island can be seen in good weather. The ruins themselves are also beautiful, with house structures, fire ponds, tombs, roof pillars, and surrounding walls. Although the accessibility is not as good as the Dulan site or Beinan site, the visibility is definitely not lost to the first two.

The Bala ruins need to go uphill to the original forest road of 1,182 meters. The forest road also maintains the most primitive scene, showing the close combination of the woods and the mountains. The scenery on both sides of the forest road is beautiful, but be careful to have tiger head bees. I am really interested in going to find out.

When you see that the Balan site index (county-level historic site) is 1.5 kilometers away, you must be mentally prepared. It means you will be there by driving 400 meters, and then 1.1 kilometers is for walking by yourself, which is uphill, as a small mountain hiking. ,very nice.
You must insist on going up, you will marvel at the wisdom of the ancestors from 1100 to 600 years ago. They chose the wonderful secret mountain scenery.
The ruins are accompanied by a QR Code for a guided tour. After scanning, the commentary and soundtrack are all good, with ulterior motives. There are few people here, it's worth it to walk 2.2 kilometers back and forth and stop at the ruins to take pictures for about two hours.

With rich cultural layers, archaeologists took away the ancestral heritage? Where should it be placed? Who has the right to wake up the ancestral spirits that have been sleeping for thousands of years, and how can we let these ancestral spirits find a place to live!

It is best to wear long sleeves, trousers and a thin jacket to go up the mountain just in case

There is an indicator near Taiwan 9 Turtle Dove. Drive towards the mountain, turn left on Xunshan Road on the side of the mountain, and go up the mountain. After reaching the Taoyao house, you can park your car in the front parking lot, or pass the pottery house on the left and there are about two to three cars behind. Parking space, starting from the dirt road, you have to walk up the mountain. The third-class monuments, the roads are well maintained, belong to the earth-rock fern pavement, I really appreciate the few artificial trails, along the way, the ecology is rich, purple butterfly, wood climbing lizard, mountain and Qiang warning calls. I have encountered many warning bees, so be careful not to offend them. At the end of the slate house and the open mountain and sea view, it is no wonder that the Puyuma people moved to this land by Mengmu three times. Along the way, the shade of the trees and the colorful mountain breeze blows, and the summer heat at the end of August disappears. By the way, about 300 meters from the entrance, there is a QR code that can be scanned, listen to the introduction of the local origin, and accompany you all the way up the steep (for those who don't often climb mountains).

Behind the Nine Birds Pottery, there is an open space. Go up the parking lot and you can see the indicators of the Balan Ruins. Along the road, besides dodge the wasps and eat the spider silk, there are all kinds of butterflies and animals along the road. ? Who can answer? After following the sign for 200m, there is an invisible small stone step next to it. It is almost covered. There is a 4G signal on the mountain, so don’t worry about getting lost. When you reach the end sign, you have to bend up the mountain. It counts when you see the pavilion! I went up the mountain too much and focused on the stones along the road. I saw that there was such a big aboriginal carving. I went up the mountain alone. The gravel along the road was a guiding path. Then there would be animals making loud noises. Don’t be scared that it’s just a shy bird hearing its footsteps. I just waved my wings and flew along the road. I was looking forward to seeing the deer. At the end, I saw a yellow butt with a curled tail that looked like a Shiba Inu?
