★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Famous lunch meal of this small town. Tasty and reasonably priced. Great to take it on the train and enjoying the meal and the great view from outside. Typical meal including a medium size pork rib, half an egg, small amount of veggies, and lots of rice. Chicken leg and sausage flavors are also available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Famous long-time bento place in the area. There's a pretty good variety of side dishes (fried cabbage, pickles, various pork items) packed into their rice boxes, but while certainly not bad tasting by any means, each individual item tasted pretty ordinary.
Rice itself was completely ordinary as well, without any of the characteristic fragrance that the rice of this area is known for. Avoid if you're looking to experience the local cuisine, this is just another run of the mill bento place you can find anywhere else in Taiwan.

So we surely would not miss the opportunity to try this yummy Benton from The original store by the train Station. Surely, it’s very traditional and delicious to let you memorize the good old childhood days.

Amazing history behind the gracious harmony of different tastes that it dish brings.
A must try when in the area.
Theres a scenic sight nearby for you to enjoy this "national" bento lunchbox only 750m away from the railway station
Highly recommend.
Their special is only 80nt

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chishang’s famous lunch box (bento) shop, recommended to me by one of the town’s top chefs. Featuring local rice flavored with wooden boxes, the meal is designed to resemble the traditional lunch boxes that were (and still are) served on Taiwan’s traditional coal trains.
