Although inconspicuous, it is quite special. It is the first place where the Han people landed in the eastern waters.

During the Qing Dynasty, the Han people directly transported supplies from the west to the back mountains and became an important stronghold on the east coast.
He was Wen Taikun, a Hakka from Neipu, Pingtung. He founded the first business name "Guang Heng Fat Company" on the east coast and became the largest grocery store on the Huadong coast at that time.
During the road widening project on the Eastern Coastal Highway, the buildings were destroyed and demolished. Only the facades of the trading houses and the feet of the pavilions of the Baroque buildings were still clearly identifiable.
Today, the "Chengguangao Cultural Landscape" is set up in a corridor with a row of stone pillars. The stone pillars are inscribed on the "Chengguangao Incident", leaving a testimony to the history of the development of the Han people on the east coast.
The cultural landscape of Chengguangao is on the roadside and fleeting, so when driving close to here, remember to slow down and enjoy the ancient time tunnel.

It is very easy to be overlooked when passing by the roadside. It is a pity that a historical site was destroyed due to the widening of the road, so that only a wall and a few pillars remained.

The site of "Guanghengfa Merchant" is integrated with Xiaogang Fishing Port and Xiaogang Tianhou Temple. "Guanghengfa Store" used to be the largest grocery store on the east coast of Huadong. It was founded by Wen Taikun, a Hakka from Neipu, Pingtung. The ruined walls left behind evoke ancient feelings.

The commentary is well done.
"Chengguang Macao Cultural Landscape" is the site of "Guanghengfa Trading Company", which is integrated with Xiaogang Fishing Port and Xiaogang Tianhou Temple.
"Guanghengfa Store" was once the largest grocery store on the east coast of Huadong. It was founded by Wen Taikun, a Hakka from Neipu, Pingtung. The remaining ruins and walls left a testimony to the history of the Han people's reclamation and development on the east coast.
The three-arch archway in the "Baroque" style and the "Tingzaijiao" in the style of brick arch arcades are all made of stone and have a grand style. From this, one can imagine the wealth of the Wen family at that time.
Xiaogang (Xiaominato) is at the rear, which is called Guangao Port. It is a natural deep-water harbour where junk ships have been moored very early. Legend has it that in the late Ming Dynasty, Han people came to do business here. Because some Han people in Hong Kong and Macau called this harbor "Aozai", and the shape was similar to the left and right claws of crabs, it surrounded the bay, so it was also called "Jianguangao". You can see Sanxiantai. Later, the Japanese built a new port (the port of success), which gradually replaced the position of the small port, and the place slowly declined.
Therefore, the entire successful development can only be traced back to Xiaomin.

The "Chengguang-Macao Cultural Landscape" Park, which has no one to maintain, was originally the site of the "Guanghengfa Company", which was once the No. 1 business in eastern Taiwan. The architectural style is a three-arch archway built with stone in an elegant "Baroque" style and a "Tingzaijiao" with a brick arch arcade.
Chengguang'ao, also known as a small port, is a natural deep-water harbour, where merchant ships were moored very early. According to legend, in the late Ming Dynasty, Han people came to do business here, and Chengguangao was an important stronghold of the Han people on the east coast during the Qing Dynasty.
Wen Taikun, a Hakka from Neipu, Pingtung, came to Chengguang'ao in the 20th year of Guangxu (1894). He founded the first store on the east coast, "Guanghengfa Store", which became the largest grocery store on the east coast of Huahua at that time. Rice, salt and other daily necessities, and take advantage of the port to transport materials directly from the west to the back mountain.
It is a pity that in 1985, the east coast highway was widened, and the archway on the north side was destroyed. Only the facade of the baroque building and the foot of the pavilion were left.
It is hoped that the Taitung County Government will give more attention to the "Cultural Landscape of Chengguang-Macao" and maintain it well, so that future generations can learn more about Taiwan's history.
