★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best Hualien souvenir food: mochi (sticky rice cake). Many branches in Hualien city. But this one opens early near the train station. There are tables and chairs for guests to rest, as well as washing rooms. Come here if you haven't decided on what to buy before leaving Hualien.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really large selection of Hualien goodies. I got some sweet potato chips, buttered bread crisps, peanut mochi and sesame mochi. The mochi is the reason why I come back. It's so good! Soft with just the right amount of Q and perfectly seasoned fillings. It's right across from the train station so a convenient stop for gifts to bring back to friends and family ^^

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place to buy moji (glutinous rice balls with various sweet fillings) and other sweets from Hualien. This is maybe not the oldest shop of this kind in Hualien, but it certainly delivers in quality and price. If you can, try to get a box of the freshly made moji, but keep in mind you need to keep them refrigerated and eat them within three days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the original location, and it’s the largest one of them all. Come here for the free samples! Anything you want to try, just ask an employee and they will be glad to give you a taste. I was delighted to find a whole tray of mochi with sesame seeds out in the open and took one to share with my friend.
Bathrooms available along with a generous amount of seating for you to stop and enjoy snacks.
Mochi made each morning and they typically sell out by the evening, so what you’re buying is totally fresh.
Well-priced and packaged goodies. Most bags are available for 120NT - 220NT and they make excellent gifts.
